Children’s Groups

Christian Playgroup Network

www.cpn.org.au

AYCF Ministries Brisbane proudly supports the CPN and recommends its resources.  The network is intended to assist Playgroups which are explicitly Christian in their focus, as well as those which simply meet on Church premises, but which have the potential to develop as ministry opportunities.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

www.cgsaust.org.au

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Christian formation process for children aged 3 to 12 years, in which they experience and form an authentic, faithful relationship with God. The Catechesis is grounded in scriptural and liturgical study framed by Maria Montessori’s principles of education. This allows children to hear the Gospel through the use of sensorial rich materials. The children are free to work with these materials that represent essential proclamations of the Christian message.

Godly Play

Mainly Music

“Started in 1990, mainly music is a fun music group for parents or primary care givers to enjoy together with their young child. Throughout the morning, children develop gross and fine motor skills, language, imagination, mathematical and pre-reading skills as well as socialize with others. Each mainly music is associated with and is run by volunteers from a local church. Children are introduced to music, creativity and more, plus families are given a chance to think about the God-part of life. Amazing to think that all this can be achieved in a loving, shared family environment.”

Otherwise, ask your local parish if they offer it.
